I decided to bring out my bottles of mist for some workout and it was fun. I made my own background paper for this challenge and I’m loving it.

Here are some close ups of the layout:

Just turning 6

Hi it’s time for a new challenge over at Ed’s Sketch. Now for this month’s sketch, do use an butterfly stamp on your layout.

 photo EdSketch_Feb14_zps927ea635.jpg

Here’s my take on the sketch. The younger one is always asking why his Birthday takes forever to arrive. Of course he still doesn’t want to agree that everyone’s Birthday takes the same number of days to arrive from their last one.

photo TurningSix_SB_13Feb14_zpsde71ea44.jpgI went for the easy way out with this layout and just used this Birthday kit from Crate Paper. Most of the elements and papers are straight from the kit. photo TurningSix2_SB_13Feb14_zpscb5a0cc2.jpgI cut out some of the yellow pattered paper squares and used them to link the right said of the layout to the main photo. photo TurningSix3_SB_13Feb14_zpse7776239.jpgA little machine stitching is always fun.
 photo TurningSix4_SB_13Feb14_zps439a1a33.jpg
I didn’t want a huge butterfly image to overwhelm the photo so I went for tiny stamped butterflies instead. These are so cute. Thanks for dropping by. Do pop in again soon and I have more projects to share.

Sand Art

Many apologies for the delay in Ed’s Sketch this month. I have been really caught up with the new school year and getting the kids back into their school routines.

Now for this month’s sketch, do use an animal stamp on your layout.

 photo EdSketch_Jan14_zpsc65ddd0f.jpg

I had a little problem with this sketch as my photos just didn’t seem to balance out. Then I turned the entire sketch around and things just fell into place. photo sandart_SB_14Jan14_zps616ecd8f.jpg

I got my hands on some Lawn Fawn wood veneers and these leave ones are just perfect for this.

Sometimes when a page needs just a little more interest, a simple stamp would be just the key. I used this grass image from Purple Onion and I’m liking the texture it adds when I look at the page.

Here is my little animal stamp. I gave the image a splash of color with my colored pens.

Daddy

It’s the Christmas season and for the month of December we have new sketch and stamp challenge over at Ed’s Sketch.

 photo EdSketch_December_zps049ecb34.jpg

With this sketch, please use any Circular stamps on your layout.
Here is my take on the sketch:

photo Dad_SB_3Dec13_zps60891c7b.jpgIt’s easy to make a banner for your project, just use some washi tape over a length of twine and you have your banner.

Just Beautiful

It’s the month of Novermber and less than 2 months to Christmas. It’s time for new sketch and stamp challenge over at Ed’s Sketch.

 photo EdSketch_Nov13_zps03e9b90b.jpg

With this sketch, the challenge is to use arrow stamps or die cuts. Here is my take on the sketch:

 photo Just2_SB_29Oct13_zps14c3e284.jpg

I was actually inspired by the HEXAGON SYMBOLS Clear Stamp Set Sentiment Series  from Pink Paislee. So I had the stamps arranged on my background paper, picking the words that I wanted to share for this page. The stamp set was just so fun to play with and is my current to go set.

So that’s all for today.

Luge Ride

I hope you are doing great this month of October 🙂 It’s time for another new sketch and stamp challenge over at Ed’s Sketch.

With this sketch, the challenge is to use 3 stamps.

 photo 10October1_zps5f22b5f5.jpg
Here is my take on the sketch:

 photo Luge_23Sept13_zps97bbdcc1.jpg

I gave my background paper a swipe of cream paint and placed my photos over the painted area.

 photo Luge2_23Sept13_zps24576846.jpg

To make the stamped images more prominent on a strong colored background, I used a light coat of light colored paint as a base. I used the wooden arrow to frame the my newest washi tape acquisition.

Don’t forget to  submit your layout for the challenge over at the Ed Sketch blog. Have an inspired week ahead.

My team No.1

Here’s a page I did for a challenge over at a facebook group called Moments Recorded. It’s a recipe challenge where you had to put in all the ingredients given in a list:
1) White base pattern paper/cardstock
2) Banners
3) Flowers
4) Dollies
5) Washi tapes
6) Decorative punching of paper edge
7) Tag

PhotobucketThe background paper is actually white cardstock that I covered with a mixture of mist, distressed inks and such. I couldn’t resist taping up the sides of the paper with airmail washi tape.

Photobucket

I wanted this mix of paper dollie and banners to resemble the sun and also a winner’s ribbons.

Photobucket

Isn’t this quote so true? if you don’t even start trying how can you win. So always give it your best even if you don’t think you are good enough. Something I hope my kids will keep in mind always.

Photobucket

Win or lose my family will always be number 1 in my eyes.

Since this is the last Thursday of July, remember to make the best of the week before it disappears before your very eyes.

Little Helper

A good friend mentioned that I no longer post on Thursdays. I guess life got the best of me. Thursdays are now my busiest day so I’ll just have to post on a different day of the week. I hope you had your crafting break this week or are you waiting for the weekend to break out those papers ?

I made this page for a challenge over at the Made With Love forum. The challenge was to use 80% of the same manufacturer’s materials on a layout. That got me inspired to use my older My Little Shoebox stash sitting in the bookshelf. Almost everything is by MLS except for the yellow alpha stickers, the ink and stamps.

Photobucket

It’s amazing how the same stash looks different after you have had a break from them. Everything feels new and inspiring.Photobucket

I stamped the sentiment and used my sewing machine to sew on the punched out scallop circles.

Photobucket

I love the laundry stickers and that little bird just seems perfect right on top of the laundry line.

Until the next post. Have a great week.

Count Your Blessings

Inspired by the Sketch Challenge #7 over at Lily Bee’s blog. It’s really sad that old stash has been ignored with all the pretty new releases in the shops. I’m glad I managed to use up this older range of Lily Bee papers in the layout.

Photobucket

I masked the background with mist and decide to sew on punched out circles to represent the bubbles he was blowing.

Photobucket

Used bits of gold washi tape which allowed part of the patterned paper to peek through as the tapes were translucent.

Photobucket

It’s been a rainy start to the week. A little gloomy but the air is nice and cool. Better to look at the bright side of things don’t you think then to dwell on the negative thoughts.

That’s all for now, do come back again.
