I think I’ve been using my mask just with mist and paints for the longest time. One day it struck me that I could use my distress inks on them. Yes it took me a long time to reach that conclusions. But better late then never. Can you see the effects on the paper !! Totally delicious.

A little handmade stacked flowers with a glittery Pink Paislee brad.

I can’t get enough of these tiny kraft envelops but I can’t bear to use the ones in my stash. I guess I should ration them out one at a time else they will just stay in the boxes forever.

Fly like the wind

It’s the Lunar New Year celebrations over here is Singapore and all the feasting and staying out has taken it’s toll. I’m feeling under weather but at least I have enough energy to share this page on the blog. I used pictures of my son racing down the luge at Sentosa.

Love the die cuts from Pink Paislee and I used a bunched all over my page.

Stamped and embossed the edge of the paper.

My Favorite Totoro

Oops sorry for the silence, I’ve been too tired out with all the early morning waking to post anything. The younger one has been waking up in the middle of the night and disrupting our sleep.

Anyway I’ve squeezed in a little bit of time to share this page before I eyes close by themselves ! My boys were delighted to find the Ghilbi Museum during our trip to Tokyo in 2010. Even though everything was in Japanese, that didn’t stop them from enjoying themselves. Of course Totoro is their favorite movie character

Just wanted to highlight the flower in yellow. I saw a tutorial on the web and tried my hand at making it with felt. Totally surprised that it turned out beautifully.

Here’s my take on the sketch with a sunny summer page.

Lots of ink and paints here. I used some white paint to mute the background paper a little so the photo could stand out.

Yes and flowers for my boy’s page. Looks prefect on a page on outdoors and doesn’t give it a girly feel at all. If you are worried, just distress the flowers a little with a little ink and you are set.

Detours

So how has the new year been ? It was been a crazy these two days as we try to get into the early morning schedules. The older one is off to school so everyone is up by 6am. Good thing I managed to do a little scrapping during the new year break. Here is my very first layout done in 2012.

Just going with the flow with this page. A little of this and a little of that and it’s feel just right. I think the 7G stamps worked great with the photo. They look rugged and boyish – a good match with the outdoor photos.

I’m looking forward to the weekend for a little respite from our busy schedules. Maybe a little scraping if I can find the time. Until the next post, remember that it’s half way to the weekends !

Happy New Year to everyone !! It’s now officially 2012 and a brand new year has began. Let’s start the year with a brand new layout.

Don’t you just love paper dollies ? I finally got my hands on a dollie die from Papertray Ink. So now I have some acid-free dollies for my layout but silly old me had to cut my first sets of dollies out of white cardstock ! Yes I did. So now they look like regular dollies. The next round I’ll make sure I make sure I don’t make the same mistake again.

Happy holidays !!! Hope your Christmas has been a nice one. I think I’m suffering from all the overeating and the parting. How about a layout to take our minds off all that for a little while.

Aren’t they cute? My son was so pleased to meet this huge dog during out holiday to Tokyo last year. A tiny kid next to a big dog.

Off the beaten path

The weather over here is bordering around the “chilly” point. The winds are really strong and it has been raining almost daily. Really does feel like Christmas is coming really soon with the chill in the air.

Here’s a page I did with our holiday photos at the beach. Going a little wild with my bottles of mist. I loaded lots of misting on the cardstock, mixing them at random.

Here’s a close up of the page corner.

Those words were just prefect for the layout. The stamps were from 7G.

Just a few more days to Christmas. Hope you are in the holiday spirit.

Totally Handmade

I made a water bottle holder for the little one and he was beaming from ear to ear when I took these photos. The papers were from Jillibean Soup’s Homemade 6 Bean Soup line. I couldn’t resist using the “Sew very happy” speech bubble on the layout. The kraft tag has been misted with my favourite Tattered Angel’s Suede. Somehow I reach for that colour first every time I want to mist something.

It’s a little crazy over at our house during the school holidays but I’m still happy I don’t have to wake up at 5.30am to get the boy ready for school. Just a few more days to the weekend ! Hang in there.
